AREA INFORMATION
Southwest Oregon is known for it's mild climate and 4
distinctive seasons. With warm summers and mild climate
it is an excellent place
to garden. The Rogue Valley is still known as "pear
country," and you can see trees from the old orchards around
town. The climate is also conducive to growing grapes, and
there are several local award winning wineries & vineyards.
Southeast Oregon ranges from High deserts such as
Klamath Falls & Lakeview to low, wide open valleys. Summers
in Klamath County & Lake County are usually warm and dry
with cool nights. Summer temperatures can get very hot. Fall provides the area with
Indian Summers of crisp days with cold nights and mornings.
Winter weather brings snow for a vast array of winter sports.
Springs are mild with warm days. There are approximately 265
days of sun and a growing season averaging 100 days a year.
The Oregon Coast in
the summer is generally mild, but can get quite windy so
bring your kites and wind breakers. July, August and
September are typically the driest months. In autumn there is a good chance of rain in late autumn
early winter. In winter, temperatures range from mid/high
40s to low 50s during day to mid 30s at night. The winter
months bring on wonderful winter storms along the Oregon
Coast. It is a wonder pastime to view the raging Pacific
Ocean as the waves crash the on the shores.
